STAYING
IN
MAYFAIR

mayfair_skyline.jpg

Bourdon Stays apartments are located in the very centre of Mayfair — steeped in history, it is one of the most expensive districts in the world. The name comes from “May Fair” — an annual fair of “vice” and “impurities” held from the 17th century onwards. View the Mayfair Walking guide here.

Mayfair needs no introduction — it is quite simply the epicentre of luxury in London, the place to satisfy the most extravagant tastes in food, fashion, jewellery and art. Home to Bond Street, Savile Row, and Cork Street, Mayfair is stuffed full of history and monopoly players will know that real estate doesn't come cheap here. Once you've shopped til you drop, or visited the many galleries and high end auction previews, we recommend a lavish afternoon tea in one of many places of the utmost luxury — The Connaught, Claridge's, Fortnum & Masons or The Ritz.

Although Mayfair is a very popular destination, surprisingly, it has many peaceful places, green parks and squares, quiet and charming old cobbled streets lined with beautiful historical buildings. It is the home to some of the oldest and finest British establishments and boutiques, as well as top international brands. You will be spoiled by the ultimate in luxury shopping of any kind (visit New Bond Street and Mount Street), by the finest art & antique galleries and auction houses (such as Sotheby's, Bonhams, Phillips, Halcyon & Gagosian Galleries), bespoke British tailoring (Savile Row), most exclusive nightclubs (Annabel's in Berkeley Square), and multiple vibrant bars and restaurants. Mayfair also hosts many foreign embassies and some of the most famous historical hotels — these often hold exclusive events and exhibitions.
